We depend on volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to carry on our work and help us to better serve our surrounding community. Volunteers constitute an estimated 97% of our total workforce, serving as members of the board, disaster action team members, instructors teaching lifesaving skills, event workers, blood center greeters and canteen assistance, blood distribution vehicle drivers and more. We thank all of our volunteers for your generous donation of time and energy and for your commitment to the American Red Cross. We couldn't do it without you!

The Community Services Office offers several different programs, free of charge, including the Medical Equipment Loan Program, the Language Bank Program and the Vial of Life.

The Equipment Loan Program enables people of our community to borrow medical equipment that may otherwise be unavailable to them. We have a generous stock of walkers, seats and canes but limited availability on wheelchairs.

The Language Bank Program is a service that we provide which enables native and non-native speakers to communicate effectively. We have a pool of volunteers who are able to translate a variety of spoken languages into English for the benefit of patients and health care providers.

The Vial of Life Program was designed to keep important medical information available to medical personnel in the event of an emergency. We provide easily displayed, user-friendly prescription vials and fact sheets to those who may need special medical attention in an emergency.
